Practice

For the first seven years of his legal career, Michael carried on a general practice in law (real estate, corporate matters, wills and estates, criminal, and civil litigation).  This gave him a broad understanding of all areas of law and the interrelation between them.  In 1995, he established a speciality in family law and maintained a vibrant Estates and Wills practice.  He was certified as a Litigation Specialist in Family Law by the Law Society of Upper Canada from 1995 to 2012.  More recently, Michael has focussed his legal expertise on Will making, Estate administration, the development of Family Trusts, and applications to Court on Will and Estate related disputes.  Finally, he continues to facilitate family law settlements and the resolution of family disputes.

Education

Michael attended Huron University College (an affiliated College of the University of Western Ontario) where he took a combined Honours Program in Philosophy and Economics.  In 1976, he graduated from the Bachelor of Law program with honours at the University of Ottawa.  Subsequently, he engaged in a program of post-graduate studies at the University of British Columbia (Regent College) in Christian Theology and Biblical Studies.  Throughout his law career, Michael has maintained his credentials with the Law Society of Upper Canada and memberships in the Ontario Bar Association and Middlesex Lawyers Association.

Personal

Michael has been married to his wife Debra since 1983.  They live in London, Ontario.  They have four adult children.
